Verizon Devour to launch February 23rd
The Verizon Motorola Devour became official last week and now BGR has obtained the possible launch date information. A leaked document suggest the Devour will launch in the indirect channel via authorized distributors on February 25th followed by a full launch in all channels on March 15th.
No price point was provided, but based on the specs we expect this device could go for around $99 with 2 year contract. The Devour features the same Qualcomm MSM7627 platform also seen in the Palm Pixi which retails for $99 (with 2yr contract).
The leaked slides indicate this phone will be targeted at young adults and single couples who want to “spend less time managing their social life and more time living it”. This would explain the recent Megan Fox Super Bowl ad which has been viewed half a million times on YouTube.
Regardless of the price, this looks to be a nice entry level Android phone for first time smartphone owners. It ships with Android 1.6, but Motorola should be upgrading it to Android 2.1 in the next few months.
